Clive glued a bicycle wheel to a microwave oven, then taped 37 empty soup cans to the handle. ‘It’s a kinetic art piece!’ he shouted, despite his neighbor’s cat knocking over a jar of hot glue. The sculpture wobbled like a drunk ballet dancer until a rogue sock flew out and smacked Clive in the face. ‘Artistic chaos!’ he declared, as his dog chewed the power cord. By sunset, the creation resembled a toaster’s revenge, complete with a 12-foot tail of duct tape. A passerby asked, ‘Is this a protest?’ Clive grinned, ‘Nah, just my third attempt at ‘Modern.’’
