Marla stood before the creaking grocery store door, hands on hips. ‘I am capable!’ she declared, then shoved. The door groaned. ‘I am worthy!’ She jiggled the handle. Still stuck. A customer nearby snorted. ‘Try the key, genius.’ Marla blinked, then yelled, ‘I am a wizard!’ She waved her arms like a mad conductor. The door swung open with a sigh. She grinned. ‘See? Magic!’ The customer facepalmed. ‘It was just stuck.’ ‘Nonsense!’ Marla twirled. ‘Affirmations are the real power.’ She marched in, leaving the customer to mutter, ‘This city needs a new therapist.’
