Gretchen squinted at the acorn in her palm, whispering, ‘I am resourceful.’ The squirrel mid-air, a 30-story building. ‘I am brave,’ she said, tiptoeing on a power line. The squirrel paused, then chittered. ‘I am unstoppable!’ Gretchen shouted, leaping onto a fire escape. The squirrel scattered. She stood, dusting off her jeans. ‘See? I’m unstoppable.’ The squirrel reappeared, holding a stolen bagel. ‘You’re welcome,’ it said. ‘But I’m not scary.’ Gretchen smiled. ‘See? I’m unstoppable.’
